everyone I know I'm not normally here on Tuesday however things have changed

things have changed dramatically over the past 24 hours hi everybody welcome

to a very special English addict extra on this Tuesday live from England

hi everybody this is mr. Duncan in England how are you today are you ok I

hope so are you happy turn that frown upside

down that's what they say apparently so here we go again

we are back however we are back on a different day Tuesday I wasn't expecting

to be here yes for those who are feeling slightly confused at the moment don't

worry there is nothing wrong with your

calendar it's definitely Tuesday

hmm do you know what I don't know where to start I just I just I don't know

where to start I have so many things to tell you my brain is melting with all

the information that I've received over the past 12 15 20 hours

I suppose so here we are are you in isolation at the moment are you watching

me in your house do you have a choice maybe you have no choice whatsoever

well guess what it's happened here as well

most people now across the UK are staying at home right now as I talked to

you so I'm here in the house mr. Steve is here however he is working so he

won't be appearing today unfortunately because he is still working even though

he's been told by his company to stay at home fortunately for mr. Steve he can

still do some work at home just like me so I have no excuse I can't actually

take a rest so even though I've been told to stay at

home and most people are it hasn't been forced yet so people aren't being forced

to stay at home however they have been asked nicely

if you would mind staying at home during this current situation so lots of things

going on I hope you are ok so I will be doing special live streams until this is

over well maybe accept the weekend because I

do need some time off I do need my rest and beauty sleep don't you know so I

will be here during this current situation you know what I'm talking

about do you need reminding I don't think so

so here we are ten minutes past one o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday this

feels very strange by the way I'm not used to being here on Tuesday normally

I'm sitting somewhere meditating watching the birds and feeling very

relaxed talking of the birds would you like to look outside oh there it is lots

of clouds and also we can hear the sound of nature listen carefully there it is

so they're looking out of the window you can see and hear the sounds lovely so

that is the view right now after the window and also you can hear the birds

singing in a distance everything is rather calm and peaceful I suppose that

is one of the good things about this current situation is many people are

just staying in the house they're not doing very much so around here it is

very quiet however it is normally quiet around here to be honest so quite often

the people around here will go off to do their own things or they will stay in

the house so normally it is fairly quiet around here anyway but there it is enjoy

a moment of nature open your window breathe in a little bit of air and enjoy

the sound of spring

okay that's enough for now we might have another look out the window

later on meanwhile what is happening where you are how are you today now I

often ask this at the start of my lessons but today I'm asking it and I

want your reply how are you today are you okay I really hope so and I hope

you are happy I am here to bring a little bit of sunshine into your day I

am trying to push those clouds apart and hopefully we can all have some fun

together because of course we can still have fern no one has said you must stay

in your house and be unhappy no one said that so we can still have some fun here

am with you live three times a week however at the moment because most

people now or many people at least around the world have been told to stay

would have thought a few weeks ago when we were all celebrating the new year who

would have thought that we would be in this situation right now standing here

with all of this going on around us can you believe what is happening it is a

little bit crazy last night I went on to a well-known shopping site where I was

trying to buy some food not much just a little food just a little bit of food to

keep me going ok it was chocolate chocolate and baked beans and can you

believe I couldn't get on the website the website had crashed so last night I

was trying to order a little bit of food now we have some food in the house so

don't worry mr. Steve and myself we have lots of food here but I was trying to

buy some extra things just in case but I couldn't because everyone else was doing

the same thing everyone else was also on the website with the same idea in their

head so I couldn't do it because the website had crashed so we will see what

happens today here on YouTube because maybe there will be lots of people

trying to use the internet today so maybe people will be keeping in touch

fire zoom or Skype like mr. Steve so mr. Steve at the moment is upstairs

and he will be doing lots of conference calling so that is it I suppose

technology is now coming in very useful for many people who are at home

including me because I can be here with you live on YouTube isn't it good

isn't it great by the way also if that wasn't enough you can also

have captions as well live captions are available you can have subtitles all you

have to do is press C on your keyboard

because YouTube of course don't forget human beings have to be at YouTube so

they can operate the site so at the moment there are very few people running

YouTube because they they are all isolating themselves so there are so

many things going on in the world and I think it's even affecting this it's even

affecting YouTube as well so we will see what happens I will stay with you for as

today of course if you haven't heard the news here in the UK last night it was

announced that they are advising everyone to stay at home unless it's

absolutely necessary so that's the reason why I'm here

that's why mr. Steve is here even though he's still working technically and so I

thought why not why not do a livestream if YouTube is still working then I will

do it and that is the promise I made on Sunday so that's the reason why I'm here

now so for those wondering why I'm here yes it is because we have been told to

stay at home we haven't been forced to do it they haven't told us we have to

stay at home however they have advised us to do it so many shops many

restaurants cinemas theaters they are closed there are very few flights taking

off from the airports here in the UK and I'm sure it's the same way you are

however however as I always say let's all look on the bright side always try

to look on the bright side whatever is happening there is always something

there is always something nice to think about look at or do even when things

seem a little uncomfortable or awkward or not good you could always look on the

bright side always look on the bright side of life

whenever you can so look on the bright side we are all here together we can

share our experience and I think we can have a little bit of fun as well why not

every cloud has a silver lining yes it does you see

not everything is bad there is always something good that you can find to talk

about to think about all to do so every cloud has a silver lining so even though

we are all stuck at home there is still something we can do we can listen to

English we can type on the live chat and you can improve your listening skills as

well don't forget learning English is something you should do every day make

I suppose one of the important things is to still get some exercise because it's

very easy just to stay in the house and do nothing

there are no people in the street the streets are deserted so deserted empty

there are not many people around they are deserted so the streets are

mr. Steve is very into meditation he loves meditating and during the day if I

have a moment I like to sit outside or I like to sit by the window and watch

nature I find it very therapeutic therapeutic if something is therapeutic

it means it can give you some reassurance it can give you something

that makes you feel better either mentally or physically something is

therapeutic so yes practicing meditation is really

good for our mental health especially those who are suffering from stress yes

you are right life sometimes can be very stressful Rita says here in Sao Paulo

people are working in their houses but millions can't isolate because they need

to work outside well this is one of the things people were talking about

yesterday when they were replying to the news because the news was asking people

to send their messages so the newsreader was reading out people's worries and

concerns and one of the biggest worry of course is those who have to work outside

so when they stay at home they can't work so there are many jobs that you

can't do when you eye at home so if you are at home you can't do the job so yes

I agree there are many problems with that and I suppose some people will be

feeling the affect more than others I think so I think it's safe to say hello

from my own point of view my mother at the moment is in care so she's being

looked after and yesterday we had a phone call telling us that we cannot

visit our mother now so I can't go to see my mother where she is because they

they are not allowing visitors anymore so so I I can't go and see my mother

even if I wanted to I can't however mr. Steve might be going to see his mother

next weekend because of course it is Mother's Day here in the UK so yes very

they are joined through the internet so we often call this remote learning or

remote teaching because you are doing it from another place thank you very much

morning I was informed that my test was delayed until the 18th of April well I

so instead of worrying about the delay you actually now have more time to

been other announcements being made by our leaders here in the UK and maybe

because here the University and schools are closed so yes it would appear that

many countries are actually closing their schools and also their

universities so all of the education all of the education has been put on hold

so if you put something on hold it means you stop it you put it on hold you stop

it from happening normally temporarily so if you put

something on hold it means you stop doing it but normally temporarily so you

are not doing it now but later you will start doing it again which is nice to

doubts that this situation will be resolved human beings are quite

resilient quite strong so we are very good at surviving if we really need to

you can see now out of the window so I would say that the weather in the UK

right now is cloudy and you can see there if you look very closely you can

see the clouds are actually moving slowly across your screen so it might

look as if the clouds are not moving but in fact they are moving very very slowly

would you like to watch something funny okay I'm trying to cheer you up

also I'm trying to cheer myself up as well so we had mr. Steve in the poncho

earlier on trying to stay dry however there is something that I like to do as

well after the rain has stopped I like to find a nice big puddle and do you

know what I like to do with that puddle I like to have a dance

sweetness says look at those sheep in the distance they are looking lovely

this view is fascinating me so much I'm glad that you like the view because if

there's one thing that is nice to see it is the view in fact if you look in the

distance yes there are some sheep very distant can you see just next to the

live view text if you look you can see some sheep in the distance very far away

and it's a lovely day Puddle dense yes mr. Duncan you were dancing in your

puddle puddle pee-yew d dl e puddle which is a small

pool of water normally caused or created by rainfall so quite often after the

rain has fallen I like to go outside and have a little dance in a puddle mr.

Steve we think mr. Steve is very funny oh thank you very much for that I'm glad

to hear that you find mr. Steve funny because here is something else that I'm

going to show you now this is mr. Steve and myself playing sport because of

course at the moment many sporting events have been canceled

so for those who are missing you that there sport
