Speak English Fluently by Improving Your Speaking on Your Own

Hello. This is Jack from tofluency.com. I help English learners reach a

high level of English. In this video, I want to talk about ways you can practice

speaking without having to have conversations. Now, getting natural

practice and having conversations with people is going to help you - it's

something that you should try to do more of, whether this is in person with a

teacher or online. But there are some ways that you can practice your speaking

on your own at home. And I think this is important to know because a lot of the

learners who get in contact with me, they feel frustrated because they don't know

how to practice their speaking and because they can't find someone to

practice with they don't do anything to improve their speaking. So, knowing that

you can do this... knowing that you can improve your speaking at home is a

really good thing for you and I'm going to share two ways that you can do this in

this video. The first way is to improve your pronunciation at home. So, there are

ways that you can do this, but first it's important to know why this is important do.

Now, improving your pronunciation helps those who are listening to you better

understand what you say. But not only that it also helps you get into the flow

of speaking English because if you don't know how to make the right sounds and

how to use the right intonation and stress and ryhthm, then it's difficult

for you to speak and when you're focusing on your pronunciation, then

you're not thinking about the words you want to use and what you actually want

to say - so, having good pronunciation helps you get into the flow of speaking

in English. Now, what I recommend you do to improve your pronunciation is to work on

the specific sounds. Work on the different sounds and know exactly what

you have to do with your mouth in order to make those sounds. I have more

can improve your speaking at home is to mimic native or profession speakers.

A lot of learners feel like they need to invent English but to be able to use English

correctly, the best way to get there, is to mimic what people say. To copy what

people say. So, I have something called the LRRC method - if you have heard of

shadowing before it's similar but my opinion it's more powerful and it helps

you more. Now, this method is where you listen, repeat, record, and compare. So, you listen

to some audio in English, then you repeat this - while you repeat it, you record it and

then you compare your vision to the original version, and then you can make

any changes that you need to make. I have more details on how you can use this
