the S sound. There are lot of these,  so I’ll need two videos to do it.

Let’s start with an easy one: SM. To make  this sound, try saying the word “some”

and then shorten it until you’re only making  the “sm” sound. Like this: Some… Small, Smack,

Smog, Smug. Try to repeat these words slowly,  then quickly. Small Smack smog smug.

Smog, Smug. 이 단어를 천천히 반복한 다음 빠르게 반복해 보세요. 작은 Smack 스모그 잘난척.

Now let’s try: SN. To make this sound try  saying the word “sun” and then shorten it

until you’re only making the “sn” sound.  Like this: Sun. Snail, snore, snout, snooze.

Try to repeat these words slowly, then  quickly. Snail, snore, snout, snooze.

Now let’s try: SP. To make this sound try  saying the word “sap” and then shorten it

until you’re only making the “sp”  sound. Like this: Sap. Span, speed,

spoil, spur. Try to repeat these words slowly,  then quickly. Span, speed, spoil spur.

The next clusters are spelled differently but  pronounced the same way. The clusters are spelled:  

다음 클러스터는 철자가 다르지만 같은 방식으로 발음됩니다. 클러스터의 철자는 다음과 같습니다.

SC (like in the word scam) or SK (like in  the word skill). But the sound is always an  

SC(scam이라는 단어와 같음) 또는 SK( skill이라는 단어와 같음). 그러나 소리는 항상

S sound matched to a hard K sound. Try to  say the word “sack” and then shorten it until  

단단한 K 소리에 일치하는 S 소리입니다. 'sack'이라는 단어를 말한 다음

you’re making the “sk” sound. Let’s look at some  different examples for each of these spellings.

Scan, score, scum. Try to repeat these words  slowly, then quickly. Scan, score, scum.

Now the SK spelling. Skill, skeleton,  skull. Skill, skeleton, skull.

Another cluster similar to the previous two is  SCH. This one is sometimes pronounced like SC or

SK, as in the example word SCHOOL. You make this  sound the same way as the previous two examples:  

예문 SCHOOL에서와 같이 SC 또는 SK처럼 발음되는 경우가 있습니다. 이전의 두 예인

School, Scheme, schism. School, scheme, schism.  But sometimes this word is pronounced SH. Say  

School, Scheme, schism과 같은 방식으로 발음합니다. 학교, 계획, 분열. 그러나 때때로 이 단어는 SH로 발음됩니다.

the word “hush” and the sound at the  end of that word is the one you want.  

'hush'라는 단어를 말하면 그 단어의 끝에 있는 소리가 원하는 소리입니다.

Words using this pronunciation are: SCHWA,  SCHMOE, SCHTIK. That one’s pretty hard!

이 발음을 사용하는 단어는 SCHWA, SCHMOE, SCHTIK입니다. 꽤 어렵다!

The last cluster is SH. You pronounce it  the same way as the previous example words  

마지막 클러스터는 SH입니다. 앞의 예문 SH와 같은 방식으로 발음합니다

SH. This is the more normal  spelling for this sound in English.

Try to repeat these words slowly, then  quickly: shape, show, sheep, ship.

shape, show, sheep, ship과 같은 단어를 천천히 반복한 다음 빠르게 반복해 보세요.

Here are some challenge sentences for you. Try to  say these quickly. The small snail sped to school.  

다음은 당신을 위한 몇 가지 도전 문장입니다. 빨리 말해 보세요. 작은 달팽이는 학교로 달려갔습니다.

The short schoolboy is scarily smart.  I snuck a spear from the smoking shed.
