volunteer site you must be the new volunteer am  I right what's your name and where are you coming

from hi my name is Mark and I'm  from Canada I'm very excited to be

here I've always wanted to join a  volunteer program like this I'm so

excited that's great to hear Mark we  really need passion passate people or this

project so tell me have you done any charity work

before yes I have back in Canada  I helped with the food drive and  

also worked with a group planting  trees for Environmental conserv

ation it was amazing to see the impact  of our work new plants growing thanks  

to us that's a good start well  done here the task will be more

challenging you'll work closely with the  local community to build shelters for families

and stray animals do you have  any experience with construction

projects m not really but I'm eager to learn

seriously I'm good at following instructions  and love working in teamwork I'm good at that

that's the right attitude we'll teach  you how to use some basic tools don't  

worry like Hammers and saws the work  involves a lot of physical labor like

digging lifting materials and sometimes climbing  ladders do you feel comfortable with that

I think so I love staying active so I'm  ready for the challenge what else will  

we do well aside from construction  you'll help with cooking in bulk we  

prepare meals for for hundreds sometimes  thousands of people it's a big operation

then there's pipe repair and electrical  maintenance to ensure the houses have  

running water and electricity  that is an important labor we do

here wow that sounds like a lot  I've never done anything like pipe  

repair or electrical maintenance but I'm  excited to learn how do we manage all this

work it's all about adaptability and  planning you rotate tasks and there  

will always be someone to guide you also  we have a strong focus on cultural exchange

here you learned a lot about the  local traditions and share your own  

experiences too that's incredible I can't  wait to meet the local community and work  

alongside them I have prepared myself for  this moment so what's the first thing we'll

do let me check we'll start  tomorrow grp by assigning you to a

group your first task will be  helping with the construction

project but for now let's get you  settling any questions before we

begin yes what's the best way  to connect with the community  

understand their needs better good question the  best way is to listen and show genuine interest  

in their lives people here value respect  and kindness share meals with them ask about  

their traditions and be open to learning  this will make your experience even more

meaningful thank you for the advice  I'll do my best to connect with

everyone by the way how long has this  project been running I'm curious about

it this particular construction  project started about three months ago

but the organization itself has  been active for over a decade we  

built schools provided clean water  and trained locals in sustainable

farming every project is tailored to  what the local community needs the most

that's inspiring I didn't realize how much impact  a volunteer program could have it's great what's  

been the most challenging part of this project  so far the biggest challenge is always resources  

We R heavily on donations and the skills of our  volunteers sometimes it's hard to find enough

people with experience in areas like  electrical maintenance or Advance  

construction projects another challenge is  the weather working under the sun can be

tough especially during the hotter  months summer is a difficult season for

us that sounds intense I'll make  sure to stay hydrated and Pace  

myself do you think the work here  will teach me skills I can use back

home absolutely you'll gain  practical skills like using basic

tools problem solving in real  situations and even leadership more

importantly you learn empathy  teamwork and how to adapt to new

environments these are skills that  can help help you in any career or  

personal growth that's exactly what I was  hoping for I've always wanted to grow as  

a person while giving back people here are  amazing despite the poverty you'll see how

resilient and warm the people are they are  excited to work with us and always grateful  

for the help you'll also notice their  deep connection to their traditions and

culture which makes the cultural exchange  so enriching you will enjoy your stay

here I can't wait to meet them  I'm ready to give it my all what  

time do we start tomorrow we begin early  around 630 a.m. breakfast will be served

beforehand make sure to get a good night's rest  and I'll see you in the morning welcome to the
