This is a verb, and it means to agree passively.

This is an adjective, and it's when something  bad is extremely obvious, it's glaring.

She's an honest politician.

그녀는 정직한 정치인이다.

Now some people might reply back  and say an honest politician.

이제 어떤 사람들은 대답하여 정직한 정치인이라고 말할 수도 있습니다.

Isn't that a contradiction?

그것은 모순이 아닌가?

Because when you hear the word honest, an image  of a politician is not what most people think of.

정직하다는 말을 들으면 대부분의 사람들이 생각하는 정치인의 이미지는 아니기 때문입니다.

So some people might say that the combination of  words, an honest politician, is a contradiction.

그래서 어떤 사람들은 정직한 정치인이라는 단어의 조합이 모순이라고 말할 수도 있습니다.

Here's an everyday example.

다음은 일상적인 예입니다.

You said you hate the heat,  but you want to go to Hawaii.

더위가 싫지만 하와이에 가고 싶다고 하셨죠.

Isn't that a contradiction?

그것은 모순이 아닌가?

Because Hawaii is very hot, but  you just said you hate the heat.

왜냐하면 하와이는 매우 덥기 때문인데, 더위가 싫다고 하셨습니다.

So that's a contradiction.

그래서 그것은 모순입니다.

Now you have 21 new words in your vocabulary.
