How to learn any language FAST and NEVER forget it

have you ever felt tired of learning a foreign  language just because no matter how much time  

you spent studying you seem to be making no  progress you want to memorize everything fast  

and retain old information successfully but  your strategies don't seem to work try doing  

this instead the first strategy is the Paro  principle or the 8020 rule the Paro principle  

is a concept that suggests that 80% of the effects  come from 20% of the causes in simpler terms it  

means that a smaller portion of what you do can  actually lead to greater results if you know what  

to do and if you know how to do it correctly in  language learning you can apply the par principle  

by focusing on the most Essential Elements first  focus on highfrequency Words these are the words  

that people use the most while talking to each  other it's very easy to do especially at the  

very beginning I really like using this list  of 625 words in thematic order or you know in  

the alphabetical order with all the words that  people use the most in every single language  

I like that this list is relatively short so  especially when you're just starting out and  

you're at a complete zero you can use this list  and use the app an for example or any other app  

that you're using to memorize new vocabulary and  learn all of these words and believe me once I  

went through this list and I made sure I knew how  to say all of these words in Spanish I started  

feeling so much more confident of course I didn't  have the grammar yet but when it came to you know  

everyday vocabulary I knew so many words but in  reality I only knew a little bit more than 600  

then focus on learning common grammar structures  I know that many of you might be tempted to go  

to the most difficult stuff immediately because  you feel like you want to become Advanced faster  

you want to use all of these Advanced words  Advanced grammar but in reality many people  

don't talk like this every single day when I film  those videos for you guys I just talk naturally  

and I'm pretty sure I'm not even using a lot  of advanced vocabulary or Advanced grammar I do  

know a lot of advanced words I'm just not using  them because usually everyday conversations are  

very simple in terms of grammar and vocabulary in  English there is this grammar rule called future  

perfect continuous the example is I will have been  studying for 3 hours by the time you arrive I'm  

pretty sure some native speakers use this grammar  rule at some point I'm not saying that no one  

will ever say this way but to me it sounds like  super Advanced it's like I will almost never be  

in this situation and I don't think I will ever  want to even use this grammar rule because it's  

so complex and when I talk to people my main  priority is communication to communicate my  

thoughts effectively and I wanted to make sure  everyone around me understands me then you can  

move on to useful phrases that are connected to  your life that's why when I just started learning  

Spanish I was immediately talking about my job  about being a YouTuber and filming YouTube videos  

and learning languages and like doing all of  those like productivity things because that's my  

life I was talking about traveling I was talking  about living in Mexico and like I don't know if  

the topic of moving abroad is beginner level or  intermediate level or advanced level I did not  

care because that was my life and for me it was  relevant and I wanted to learn how to describe  

all of those things in simple words as you can  see in this video I don't want to share this like  

regular language learning advice with you that  you have probably already seen multiple times I  

want to talk about the most common principles  or techniques or strategies that can be also  

connected to language learning or at least you  can apply them while learning a language maybe  

one technique is not going to work for you the  other is going to work great for you it's great

the morning many people feel the most productive  and this first hour of your day is really great  

for learning a new language it's like this magical  time when your brain can learn and you can be most  

productive in my experience I do feel like  I'm extremely productive in the morning so  

if I want to for example practice all of the new  vocabulary I just learned I usually do it in the  

morning and it's very important for me to have  a very consistent morning routine sometimes I  

change it up because sometimes you know it gets  boring because I do exactly the same thing over  

and over again but usually in the morning I  feel like I can revise everything I feel like  

I can learn new words words like learn something  difficult because my mind just feels like fresh  

you know I feel like I'm ready to do everything  and also one important thing is that I feel more  

focused I feel like in the morning it's just  like so quiet especially if you wake up early  

and you can just be like super focused like laser  focused on your language learning just you know  

sitting in your table doing something listening  to a podcast analyzing everything and memorizing  

new words strategy number three is the use it or  lose it principle according to this principle if  

you don't use the language if you don't practice  the language you will forget it over time and I  

can say that that's true that's something that  I have experienced a lot with Chinese because  

I basically spent five years in College learning  Chinese and then at one point I stopped I stopped  

completely because I felt so incredibly tired I  had a lot of you know just pressure in college  

to learn Chinese to be amazing to become Advanced  and I was just tired and I stopped completely and  

of course I lost my fluency again if you don't  use it you lose it and it's especially true for  

language learning however what I have also noticed  about myself is that if I had this experience you  

know I studied Chinese for 5 years starting to  learn Chinese again is going to be a lot easier  

for me maybe at the beginning I'm going to feel  like I'm starting from scratch but in reality I  

am not I'm not starting from scratch and my brain  starts to pick up on maybe grammar structures or  

words a lot faster because you know all of those  years ago I did spend 5 years learning Chinese  

so I still kind of remember a lot of things I  just need to go through all of this information  

again and build all of these connections one  more time also immersion really helps you here  

if you feel like you're forgetting a language  start surrounding yourself with this language  

again maybe start watching YouTube videos in this  language that is the easiest thing to do YouTube  

videos are free you don't need a subscription for  example for Netflix you might need a subscription  

and you don't want to subscribe so YouTube just  go to YouTube watch a bunch of videos and then  

if you feel like okay yeah I feel I feel fine  like I feel like I'm ready to start learning  

this language again it will just give you more  motivation and you will surround yourself with  

this language and your brain will kind of start  remembering all of this information of course  

not everything because probably you forgot lots of  things already but don't worry about it it's going  

to be a little bit easier for you to kind of like  pick it up again instead of starting everything  

from scratch strategy number four is the total  physical response principle tpr this method is  

very interesting and when I Was preparing for  this video I was like huh I definitely do it too  

so basically it includes using physical actions  and movements try to remember something let's say  

you're trying to remember how to say jump in your  target language so instead of just like being okay  

this word means jump here is a picture okay let  me try to remember everything you actually stand  

up I mean if I stand up you're not going to be  able to see me but basically you stand up and  

you jump and you create a few sentences like I'm  jumping right now I can jump very high and while  

you're creating all of these sentences you are  actually jumping I know that this strategy is  

not going to work for many words of course but it  is going to work for some recently I noticed that  

I use my body language a lot when I speak I use my  arms I use my heads even when I record my YouTube  

videos it's always always like this because I  feel like it helps me express my ideas better  

and my emotions better as well another way you  can approach this method is let's say English is  

your target language you really want to improve  your English so while watching a movie try to  

mimic the actor's maybe gestures like the way they  standing or the way they're moving when they're  

saying a specific phrase if you have time for it  if you want to do something fun it's a great thing  

especially if you pair it with shadowing if you  repeat their words and use the same intonation  

you try to use the same pronunciation use the same  gestures all of these things combined can help you  

progress faster and to be completely honest it is  something that I do right now in English and in  

Spanish I feel like right now in English not as  much but in Spanish a lot because I really want  

to change the way I speak Spanish to people I feel  like right now I speak Spanish just like I speak  

English and sometimes it's a little bit weird so  I I always try to watch native speakers closely  

to make sure I sound like them and the final  strategy is the input hypothesis this theory  

was proposed by Steven crashion and basically  it suggests that you're going to make a lot of  

progress if you're exposed to the language that  is only slightly above your current level it's  

like being giv material that challenges you just  a little bit but not too much when choosing your  

materials try to look for something that is not  very challenging otherwise you're going to feel  

overwhelmed I remember in English I did feel  overwhelmed quite a lot because I always wanted  

to do more I'm like oh I can totally read this  book and then it was like way too difficult for  

me and I felt extremely overwhelmed and I honestly  wanted to quit if something is too difficult it's  

not going to motivate you it's going to make you  feel better about yourself and it's more likely  

that you're going to stop learning this language  completely and when you improve the complexity  

of the content you use will gradually increase  and maybe first you will feel like oh my God  

the content I'm using is like too easy if it's too  easy for you don't use it it has to be just right  

it has to be easy but a little bit challenging  there have to be a few words that you are not  

sure you know you're not sure how to say but you  shouldn't be like okay you're reading a book and  

every single word you don't know that's probably  not great that's probably you know too much too  

difficult for you you should start with something  else so that's it for this video I really hope you
