Ugh, I tried to read his note, but his handwriting was so illegible, I

thought it was written in hieroglyphics.

Illogical.

This makes no sense.

Have you ever heard an argument from someone that sounds so

bizarre, you think, wait, what?

That's because it's illogical.

It doesn't follow the rules of reason.

Saying you don't need a coat because it's only minus five degrees

outside is completely illogical.

Unless you're a penguin.

Illegitimate.

Basically, not official.

Illegitimate.

This one sounds serious, and it is.

Something illegitimate is unauthorised and not recognised by the law.

The illegitimate king tried to take over the throne, but everybody knew

he had no right to wear the crown.

So, let's recap our I L words.

We had illegible, can't read that.

Illogical, makes no sense.

Illegitimate.

Not official.

So let's now move over to I R.

Now these words will give you the power to describe things that just don't fit,

or worse, they make no sense at all.

Irrelevant.

Who cares?

Have you ever been in a conversation where someone brings up something

that has nothing to do with the topic you're discussing?

That's when you can pull out Irrelevant.

We were talking about movies and then he started talking about pizza.

How irrelevant was that?

Irresistible.

You can't say no.

We all know this one.

Something irresistible is so attractive or desirable that you just have to have it.

The smell of freshly baked cookies was irresistible.

I ate five before dinner.

Think of it as the opposite of being responsible.

Leaving the front door open when you have three kittens is completely irresponsible.

Irrepairable.

Can't be fixed.

Some things once broken can't be fixed.

Like my last phone.

It was irreparable after I dropped it in the pool.

The damage to the antique vase was irreparable.

Oops.

Irrational.

It makes no sense.

Some decisions are just completely irrational.

Like, wearing flip flops in a snowstorm.

Her fear of squirrels was completely irrational.

But we all have our quirks.

It's not enough.

If something doesn't meet the need, then it's inadequate.

Inaccessible.

It can't be reached.

If something is hard to get to or impossible to access, it's inaccessible.

Like that one coin that slips out of your pocket and down the back of the sofa.

It's inaccessible.

The Wi Fi signal is completely inaccessible in the mountains.

I guess I'll just enjoy nature.

Inaccurate, not correct.

We all make mistakes, right?

If something is wrong, or not quite right, we call it inaccurate.

His guess about my age was inaccurate.

By ten years!

Incapable.

Can't do it.

Sometimes we all feel incapable, like trying to learn a new skill, but don't

worry, it's all part of the process.

I am incapable of saying no to free pizza.

Incomparable.

The best.

When something is so amazing that nothing else compares, it's incomparable.

Her kindness is incomparable.

There's really no one like her.

Incompatible.

Doesn't work together.

When things just don't work well together, they're incompatible.

Like oil and water.

Inconceivable.

Impossible to imagine.

This is a fun one.

Inconceivable is used when something is so wild you can't even imagine it happening.

It's inconceivable to think that we once lived without the internet.
