Can I learn English fast? - Is it possible? (The best advice)

Many people ask

Mr Duncan what is the easiest

way to learn English?

...quite often in response to advertisements

and things they've seen on the internet

promising to teach English

and to make you fluent in just a few weeks.

First of all can I say that it is not possible...

you cannot learn English fluently

in just a few weeks...

because that is not many lessons...

that is not much time to pick up

all the basic rules

and also to gain all of the vocabulary

that you need to be fluent as well.

So my answer to that is 'no''

and if anyone promises to do that,

I can safely say that they are lying,

Just like anything that you have to learn in life

it takes time and patience.

Don't rush what you are doing.

If you try to learn too much

in a short space of time, there is

a good chance that you will give up...

you will quit...

you will feel as if you will never improve.

So I always believe the best way

to learn anything is over time,

at a steady Pace...

at your speed...

the speed that you feel

the most comfortable with

and of course as I always say...

you have to make English part of your body...

you have to look at it like an arm,

or maybe a muscle in your arm.

If you don't use it, it will waste away.

The same thing applies to exercise.

If you exercise your muscle every day,

it will become stronger...

and that is the same thing with English.

So the more you practice English,

the more you will enjoy it...

the more you enjoy it...

the more you will want to do it.

And that is the cycle that you must try to get into.
