How to Pronounce the voiced TH sound in English - Rap

Hi everyone, I'm Jay from Simple English videos.

Today we've got a treat for you.

Jason, also known as Fluency MC, and Tom have teamed up

to help you pronounce a very tricky sound in the English language.

THHHHH (no voice) and THHHH (voiced).

The most common mistake students make

is to keep their tongue inside their mouth.

But doing that will only make a D or a T sound.

To make the “THHHH” (unvoiced) sound or the “THHHH” (voiced) sound,

push your tongue forward so it's touching your top and bottom

rows of teeth with the tongue sticking out a bit.

And don’t bite your tongue or make your tongue too stiff, though.

You need the air to flow out easily. “THHHH” (unvoiced) “THHHH” (voiced)/

This tongue position can produce,

as we said, two sounds without the voice, “THHHH”

for words like ‘think’

and ‘through.’ And with the voice, “THHHH”

For words like ‘the,’ ‘these,’ ‘them.’

Okay.

Now, the rap you're about to listen to is focused

on the voiced TH sound. “THHHH.”

So let's listen to the rap.

It will play twice. The first time,

just pay attention to all the words with the “THHHH” (voiced) sound.

The second time, try and join in and rap the words yourself.
