What does JOT mean?? | Learn English Vocabulary

The word jot means to write and we use it in  the phrase, to jot it down.

I think this pretty much always means with a pen or pencil. 

I don't think we really use jot or jot it down to mean typing.

But the word jot does  have another meaning. It means very little.  

I don't care a jot if you stay or if you leave.  I've actually never heard it used that way.  

But jot it down? Common phrase.

Let me jot down your phone number.
