ah yes love so many songs books and movies have  been written about it and we all love to feel  

it today we will be talking about vocabulary  related to romantic love our vocabulary terms  

for today are date interest flirt significant  other and infatuation our first word today is  

date no not date like what day is when we are  talking about romance date can be a verb or and  

now in the verb form to date means to do romantic  things together or to be romantic partners as a  

verb date usually means that you are boyfriend  and girlfriend for example Jack is dating Lynn  

this means that Jack and Lynn are boyfriend and  girlfriend in the noun form a date is just one  

romantic activity that two people do together for  an example he took me on a date we had dinner at  

a nice restaurant and then went to see a movie  going to a nice restaurant and seeing a movie  

together are some examples of a date you can use  the noun form in phrases like go on a date and  

ask on a date our second word is interest this  word can be used in a couple ways when talking  

about romantic love first we can use this word  as a verb if someone is interested in someone  

it means they want to date them for example Jason  is interested in Leslie this means that Jason is  

attracted to Leslie and may want to date her  we can also use this word in the phrase love  

interest this is used to describe someone you  want to date and is often used to talk about  

characters in books in movies for example Rose  is Jax love interest in the movie Titanic our  

next word is flirt this word can be a verb or  an adjective to flirt means to do small things  

to show someone you are interested in them this  often means being overly nice and paying a lot  

of attention to one person some examples of  flirting are smiling and laughing very often  

more often than normal and keeping eye contact  for a long time a lot of flirting can happen in  

text messages as well like when you put a winking  face at the end of your message we can also use  

this word as an adjective we call someone a flirt  when they flirt with many people for example Matt  

is such a flirt he flirts with every girl next  let's talk about the term significant other this  

is a phrase used to talk about whoever you aren't  dating engaged to or married it means you are in  

a relationship with that person you may hear  this term in some questions in English like  

who is your significant other or is she your  significant other let's use it in a sentence  

John is my significant other last let's talk about  the noun infatuation another word for infatuation  

is obsession infatuation is a short but strong  passion and admiration for someone infatuated  

is the verb form of this word let's use it in a  sentence in high school she was infatuated with  

him or are you in love with him or are you  just infatuated okay students that's it for
