50 Common Questions in English with Sarah - How to Ask and Answer Questions in English

hello students welcome back to the channel today  i'll be asking sarah some questions in english so  

that you can see some common answers to questions  in english all right are you ready sarah ready  

let's get started so sarah who are you oh well  my name is sarah for the last seven years or so  

i've been a teacher but now i am living back home  in the u.s and i'm working at a university here  

uh but not on the teaching side okay great  now for question number two what do you do  

well as i said i work at a university here so  i work in admissions which means i get to go  

recruit and find students who are interested  in coming to the university that i work at and  

helping them with that whole process okay that  sounds interesting question number three who  

is your favorite person and you cannot see  me oh well you ruined my answer then danny  

um i would have to say my favorite person is my  husband john oh okay um and the next question is  

what is your favorite food i love all dumplings so  many cultures have dumplings and i love them all  

that's my favorite food dumpling okay what  kind of books do you read i prefer fiction  

and i really like sci-fi and fantasy books  especially okay what do you think is the most  

important skill for english learners that's a  great question and i actually think there are two  

skills that are the most important number one  is patience because many people start learning  

a language and it feels like it's going too slow  things like that so learning how to be patient  

and then second is discipline so to continue to  stick to a schedule and stick to a learning plan  

um even when you don't really feel like it  or you don't want to practice so i think the  

most important skills are patience and discipline  okay the next question is do you have any siblings  

yes i do i have one older brother and i have two  younger half brothers okay the next question is  

are you a youtuber yes i am oh  that's interesting what's uh  

what's your youtube channel my english channel is  my english channel my youtube channel is called  

well our youtube channel is called english  danny what is your favorite youtube channel  

my favorite youtube channel um there's a youtube  channel called townsends and it's actually um a  

history based channel about 18th century american  history and it goes into food of the time and life  

in the time period and things like that so  i love that channel okay great okay then how  

about this what are your hobbies um so some of  my hobbies include um things like biking hiking  

walking and kayaking i love outdoorsy things  and then i love to read and also love to cook  

love to cook okay what did you eat for breakfast  today well actually i have not yet eaten breakfast  

but normally i have um either oatmeal or a little  english muffin breakfast sandwich for breakfast  

okay do you like coffee why or why not i do like  coffee i'm drinking it right now um i think it  

tastes good and of course the caffeine helps me  get my day going okay what is your favorite kind  

of pizza oh that's a good question um i think that  margarita pizza is my favorite i like brick oven  

pizza for the crispy crust what time do you  usually get up i usually wake up at 6 00 am  

for work but on the weekends it's  closer to 8 o'clock are we friends no

yes we are we're great friends okay and yes okay  wonderful good to know what time do you usually go  

to bed i usually go to bed around 10 30 or 11 p.m  what are you going to do today i have some work to  

do today so today i will be working and then a  little bit later i will probably go for a walk  

and enjoy some dinner with family then what are  you going to do tomorrow tomorrow i'm going to  

go to a state park and do a hiking trail and  go swimming where did you grow up i grew up in  

utica new york are you hungry yes because i have  not eaten breakfast do you have a good sense of  

humor i think that i have a good sense of humor  yes then can you tell me a joke yes i can why  

why do ants not get sick why do ants not get sick  i don't know because they have little antibodies

that's very funny sarah i can tell  that you think it's hilarious okay then  

how long does it take you to get to work usually  it takes me 25 to 30 minutes to get to work  

how do you get to work i drive to work  what is your favorite free time activity  

i would say these days i really enjoy exercising  in my free time and listening to music  

when did you and i first meet uh we met in 2015.  do you collect anything no i do not collect  

anything i try to have few possessions but if i  did collect anything it would be books what's your  

number one comfort food my favorite comfort food  is any noodle soup especially beef noodle soup  

it's a chinese soup and it is very comforting and  delicious what is your favorite kind of music um

to be general this is always a difficult question  to answer because many people listen to so many  

kinds of music but i like rock music indie music  and folk music then who is your favorite band um  

my favorite band changes often but these days  it's fleet foxes what is your favorite song  

again it changes all the time but uh maybe this  week my favorite song is never going back again  

by fleetwood mac okay how many countries have  you traveled to um if i include the us then  

it is ten countries so it's the us canada  south korea china japan vietnam cambodia  

did i say thailand england and wales so 10  countries total okay are you an introvert or  

an extrovert i'm more of an introvert but when i  am a teacher when i'm teaching i'm extroverted and  

i am also extroverted with people that i get  along with very well are you shy sometimes yes  

um but usually no are you happy well i think  it's not possible to always be happy but i'm  

pretty happy and i often feel very grateful for  my life and the people in it well you look happy  

what was your first job um for my first  job i worked at a drive-through window at  

a fast food restaurant and i was 15 years old  okay what is your favorite tv show um again  

changes all the time um but i just finished a  show called severance and i really liked that  

what is the best season fall is definitely  the best season why is fall the best season  

uh it's beautiful because of the leaves  changing color the temperature is cooler  

and there are fewer bugs as well so i  love fall okay what is your favorite book  

my favorite book i love the harry potter  series um and then i recently read a book  

called the alice network by kate quinn so that's  my current favorite okay do you have a nickname  

no i do not okay would you like a  nickname if only if you give it to me yes

what makes you angry um i would say people who  are inconsiderate and don't think about how their  

actions affect other people that makes me angry  what makes you happy well spending time with  

friends and family and doing things i enjoy like  spending time outside do you play computer games  

yes i do are you a cat person or a dog  person i like both i love all animals equally  

what's your favorite movie it's hard to choose  favorites i think one of one movie that or a  

series that i could watch many many times is uh  lord of the rings do you have any phobias that  

means are you scared of anything yes i hate bugs  so if they're if they're far away i don't mind  

but if they're in my face i hate it i do i'm i  have a bug phobia so they bug you yes they hug me

can you sing yes i can sing i i enjoy singing okay  well i was searching on the internet the other day  

and i want you to speak to this thing that i  found phrasal verbs did you hear it well that  

sounded familiar yes so what do you have to say  about that um that is it is it you that is me yes  

uh my my friend danny asked me to make  the coolest song ever about phrasal verbs  

that's why you were singing about phrasal verbs  that's right not my usual subject of singing but  

it was good it was a good song okay can you play  an instrument yes i can play the flute uh very  

well and i can play the guitar but only a little  okay are you a morning person or a night person  

i'm more of a night person so  students thanks a lot for watching
