Describing people's appearance and personality.

Appearance: Is what a person looks like.

For example, what does he look like?

He is short.

What does she look like?

She is tall.

Personality: Is what a person is like.

What is he like?

He is kind.

What is she like?

She is funny.

Describing appearance vocabulary.

Beautiful: Someone or something that is nice to look at.

Attractive: A person or thing that is nice to look at.

Good-looking: Someone who is pretty or handsome.

Pretty: Used to describe someone or something

that is attractive in a delicate way.

Often used to describe women and girls.

Handsome: A good-looking man or boy.

Often used to describe men and boys.

Thin: Used to describe a skinny person.

Thin is used to describe someone

who doesn't have extra body weight.

Heavy: Is used to describe a person

who has extra body weight.

These are just some common appearance vocabulary words,

but there are many more that you can find

to use in English conversations.

Describing personality vocabulary words.

Smart: A person who is intelligent.

Easygoing: A person who has a relaxed personality.

Shy: A person who is quiet and not outgoing.

Talkative: A person who is outgoing and talks a lot.

Honest: A person who says true things.

Funny: Someone that causes laughter.

Unfriendly: A person who isn't friendly.

A person who isn't nice to talk to.

Kind: A person who is nice and helpful.

These are just some personality vocabulary words.

There are many more that you can find,

and use in English conversations.

Answer: She is tall and pretty.

Question: What is your brother like?

He is smart and talkative.

Question: Who does your brother look like?

He looks like our father.

Now, you try.

Say the questions and answers,

practicing the questions and answers.

- "Ah, his name is Bob."

- "Oh, what does Bob look like?"

- "Ah, he's short and good-looking."

"He also has a lot of hair."

- "Really? What's he like?"
