are who what when where why and how we will study soon but first let's listen

today is a beautiful day so I decided that we will have class in this

beautiful park but don't worry I brought my chalkboard with me

we can use WH questions who what when where why and how to help make short

conversations and we can use WH questions to make conversations longer

we use WH questions to find out more information in a conversation hello

students I'm teacher Ken I'm here to explain about the past the present and

the future remember the past is before now the future is after now and the

present is now or around now you see let's study about WH questions for the

past please have a look WH questions for the past simple remember the past is a

completed action that happened before now before the present to make WH

questions using past simple we need to start with a WH word who what when where

why how for example what and then we use the auxiliary verb did what did you do

last weekend what did you do last weekend notice for the WH question the

verb is in the base form it is do not did what did you do last weekend now

let's look at a wh question for the past with the answer so we start with the

question what did you do last weekend now we can answer the question for

example I went shopping notice that the WH question keeps the

verb in base form do do what did you do last weekend but in the answer we need

to use the past simple form of go so we say I went shopping what did

you do last weekend I went shopping now we can continue the

conversation by asking more WH questions for example who did you go with who did

you go with let's look at the answer - who did you go with I went with my

friend Ted what did you do last weekend I went shopping who did you go with I

went with my friend Ted notice who did you go with in our answer we should also

use with I went with my friend Ted

we can simply ask something like this how about you how about you Ted what did
