and use large numbers in English.

We studied units thousands through millions.

This is part two of using large numbers in English.

We will continue the lesson.

Before we get started let's review

what we learned in the last video.

Remember, the number unit thousand has four digits.

10,000, five digits.

100,000, six digits.

Million, seven digits.

The next large number unit is 10 million.

10 million. has eight digits.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

So if we look at this number,

we start from the left and we say,

"10."

And at the comma, we need to say

the number unit, "million."

"10 million."

The 10 million unit includes 10 million,

20 million, 30 million, 40 million,

50 million, 60 million, 70 million,

80 million, 90 million.

Now, let's look at this number.

Let's count how many digits.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

So, we know this number is 10 million.

But, how many millions is it?

It is, let's look at the left side,

12.

And at the comma, we need to say "million."

12 million.

And then, the rest of the number is six digits.

Remember, six digits is hundred thousand.

So, 12 million,

376 thousand,

234.

12,376,234.

Let's try another one.

Let's look at the left side.

How many millions?

There are 15 million.

So, 15 million,

344 thousand,

281.

15,344,281.

Now, you try.

Try to identify and say this number.

That's correct.

It is 18 million,

999 thousand,

697.

18,999,697.

The next large numbers unit is 100 million.

That is nine digits, let's count.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.

So, this number is 100 million.

100 million includes 100 million,

200 million, 300 million, 400 million,

500 million, 600 million, 700 million,

800 million and 900 million.

Let's try this number.

How many digits?

Let's count.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.

Nine digits.

So, we know it's hundred million.

How many hundred million?

Let's look at the number.

679 million,

555 thousand,

333.

679,555,333.

Now, you try.

Look at the number identified

and try to say the number.

That's correct.

It is 489 million,

788 thousand,

344.

489,788,344.

And, the last number unit we're going to study

is billion.

Billion is 10 digits.

One, two, three, four, five, six,

seven, eight, nine, 10.

One billion.

Billion includes one billion, two billion,

three billion, four billion, five billion,

six billion, seven billion, eight billion,

and nine billion.

So, let's try this number.

How many digits?

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven,

eight, nine, ten.

If we start on the left, all the way at the left,

we see a two.

So, two and a comma.

So we say, "Two billion."

And then, we have one, two, three, four,

five, six, seven, eight, nine.

Nine numbers, remember, is hundred million.

So, two billion,

378 million,

567 thousand,

904.

Now, you try.

What's the number?

Identify the number and say the number.

That's correct.

Seven billion,

654 million,

892 thousand,

and one.
