hello to everyone here we are once again yes it is Friday oh I thought we were

going to get some fireworks but there are no fireworks because I'm outside

once more as you can see the weather is quite nice unfortunately our good

weather is about to come to an end unfortunately because

this week it's going to get very cold and very Grey and miserable so I think

next week I might be back in the studio next week we will see what happens

however I am here today we are all here once again for those who don't know who

I am I will explain my name is Duncan I am an English teacher I work on YouTube

most of the time you can find me here doing something sometimes I am making

video lessons sometimes I am doing my live streams like now so that's what I'm

doing at the moment so for those who have just joined me and maybe you are

wondering who I am I'm a time Duncan mr. Duncan some people call me mr. Duncan

some people call me that idiot off the internet Thank You mum and some people

say do you know that English guy there's an English guy he teaches English on

YouTube have you ever seen him so some people refer to me as that so I've been

here on YouTube for many years doing this can you guess how long I've been

doing this for a very long time indeed thank you very much for all of your

lovely messages that I've received one or two people wrote to me after

yesterday because I talked a lot about various subjects including my own

personal experiences from my life I don't know why you are so interested in

my life however we did talk about quite a few things yesterday we talked about

my experiences of maybe losing a job or having a job or maybe difficult moments

of my life when things did not go to plan so all of these things have

happened to me just like everyone things often go wrong they do they

often go wrong so things are not always good things don't always go as planned

also yesterday I was asked mr. Duncan have you ever lost your love well I

suppose I have been lucky and also unlucky as far as love is concerned so I

think it's the same once again for everyone sometimes we can find the right

person straight away sometimes we have to wait for a very long time to find

that special person I suppose I should first mention for those who are

wondering you can have captions so because I'm using my studio camera today

you can actually have captions all you have to do is press C on your keyboard

find the captions so all you have to do is activate the subtitles and then as if

by magic you will have the captions on the livestream so today they are

available they are available here today for those who are wondering so it's good

Friday for many people it's a special day if you are a religious person if you

are a person who follows a certain religion you will find today is a

special day Good Friday and of course on Sunday it is Easter Sunday I'm feeling

rather excited by that to be honest you know I like Easter Sunday because of all

those delicious chocolate eggs that I get to eat so yes I'm pretty excited by

that to be honest I am rather excited this morning I woke up early but not too

early so this morning I did not wake up with the dawn chorus however yesterday I

did and you can still watch that on my youtube channel it is available so for

those who were asking about my door and chorus livestream you

current affairs when we talk about current affairs we are talking about

things that are happening at this moment in time things that are occurring may be

locally or perhaps around the world so are you keeping on top of the current

affairs the latest news the breaking news and let's be honest there is a lot

a lot of news flying around at the moment some of it reliable and some of

it not so reliable a lot of things happening you will be pleased to hear

that the prime minister of the UK Boris Johnson is now out of intensive care

he's out apparently he's sitting up he's chatting

away and he's feeling much better so I'm sure a lot of people will say good good

to that however there are people in this country who are already criticizing him

for his handling of so there are people already just a few hours after he came

out of intensive care people are already criticizing him so sometimes people are

very fickle maybe they say yes one day but then the next day they say no

I don't think so we are doing something very interesting here in the UK on

Thursday night so every Thursday here in the UK everyone is clapping they are

giving their appreciation they are showing how much they appreciate what

for doctors and nurses and all of the people who are on the front line when it

comes to serving people in the shops or taking care of people in hospitals

doctors nurses all of the people involved in that thing taking care of

people also involves delivery services so there are many drivers who are

spending extra time out on the road driving around making sure all of the

supermarket's have their food and all of the things that people are currently

needing quite badly especially toilet paper and all of the people working in

shops so many shops are still open certain shops that are selling things

such as supermarkets of course and small shops such as pharmacies so they are

still open you have doctors so doctors are still working locally taking care of

local people who become ill so we are not just talking about one type of

illness we are talking about many types of illness so remember people are still

falling ill not necessarily from but maybe something else maybe they injure

themselves in the garden whilst they are trying to do a little bit of gardening

on their own maybe they accidentally stick the garden fork into their foot or

maybe they are up a tree cutting the tree and unfortunately they are soaring

they are soaring through the that they are standing on so there are

people injuring themselves there are people becoming ill so you still need

doctors to take care of people who are coming down or becoming ill for other

reasons talking of health today I am suffering a

little bit with hay fever so just in case if I sneeze during today's

livestream don't worry don't panic it is not it isn't it's just hay fever because

around the area where I live many farmers are growing something called

rapeseed and unfortunately rapeseed produces a lot of pollen at this time of

year as all of the yellow flowers come out and the problem is I am very

sensitive to certain types of pollen and rapeseed pollen is one of them

so that's the reason why this morning when I woke up in bed I was sneezing my

head off I couldn't stop sneezing so just in case I have a little sneeze

during this live stream don't panic don't call an ambulance I am okay I'm

fine I'm okay no problem it is just a little bit of hay fever that is what I'm

suffering from at the moment not very nice at all hello to the live chat so

Elena what a pleasant peaceful place very pleasant view the weather is super

yes it is it is super today the weather is nice it is around about 23 celcius

today however this is one of the last warm days that we are going to have for

a while unfortunately next week it is going to become very cold as lots of

Icelandic air starts to come down from the north so next week we are going to

experience some very cold weather a little different

well mr. Duncan seems a little bit drunk oh I see maybe you are referring to my

lovely little plant down there my little plant yes well it is very heavy you know

it's quite heavy it's very hard to carry that plant it weighs a lot it is very

heavy especially for me because I don't have much body strength

world there is no way that I would ever become a World Wrestling Federation

champion not with these skinny pipe cleaner arms definitely not careful mr.

going through some very strange times everyone here in the UK yesterday I was

here live on YouTube and I mentioned that we had been into town yesterday and

a lot of people who were actually talking to each other were all saying

the same thing can you guess what they were saying yesterday lots of people

walking around the streets they were all shouting to each other because they

couldn't get close you see so when they were having conversations they were

actually shouting to each other because they had to stay very far apart so you

could hear what they were saying it was very easy to hear so I wasn't being nosy

I wasn't listening in on their conversation nothing like that but they

were talking about how bored they felt one lady said I can't stand this I can't

stand this anymore I think she was talking about the lockdown that everyone

is having to go through so I think she was actually annoyed that she still has

to stay indoors and she can't go out very far from her house so a lot of

people were saying the same thing they were saying I'm bored I'm sick of this I

wish it would end will it end soon I have nothing to do so they were all

complaining and moaning to each other in the street which I thought was quite

interesting because if you look carefully there must be something you

can find something you could find to do maybe you can take up a new hobby or a

new interest you can read some of those books that you have in your bookcase

that you never read a lot of people have books in

houses and they never read them so maybe now is a good time to do that so if

there is a book that you've bought and maybe you just bought it to look good in

front of your neighbors maybe you could read it that sounds like a good idea I

know I have lots of books in my well in my living room I have lots of books that

some of them I haven't read for a very long time so I might be doing a little

bit of reading as well during this strange lockdown as well so I asked what

I will be doing sweetness likes my conifer thank you very much that is one

of the conifers we actually bought that many years ago it's been withers that is

being with us for a long time and still and waiting for mr. Steve to actually

find a place to plant it but it is still there in the pot it is still in its

little pot getting larger and larger so maybe one day Steve will eventually

plant the conifer somewhere in the garden

I've suddenly noticed it's become very windy I don't know why or how or who or

when however it has become a little windy out here I have to be careful you

see because I have some lights next to me and I'm worried that they might blow

lovely neighbor left two lovely fresh hot cross buns on the doorstep they were

carefully wrapped up and we had them this morning so mr. Steve and myself we

had a cup of coffee and we had these delicious homemade home-made they were

fresh hot cross buns and can I say they were absolutely gorgeous they were so

nice so thank you very much for it to to our lovely neighbor I won't say her name

just in case just in case she doesn't want me to but thank you very much to my

lovely neighbor for your beautiful gifts this morning for Easter two delicious

hot cross buns homemade as well not bought from the shops home made amazing

item to your house we can deliver everything else we can deliver some milk

we can deliver some of your frozen peas and your frozen broccoli but we can't

supply this one thing can you guess what it is what is it the thing that my

lots of things you have to clean the floors you have to clean all of the

surfaces you have to make sure your house doesn't become too dusty so

housework here in the UK we do housework we take care of our house to keep it

were clapping at 8:00 p.m. so this is what is happening here in the UK a lot

of people now are opening their windows I don't know why a wasp

just attacked me did you see that a very violent an aggressive was so yesterday

night yes last night a lot of people open their windows where they are

isolated and secluded and they they leaned out of their window and they all

gave a super round of applause everyone was clapping for all of the care workers

and all of the people who are making sure that we can still have our food we

can still go to the supermarket and of course if we become ill we can be cared

clap as well oh so it would appear that a lot of people around the world are

doing this so we are doing it on Thursday nights so every Thursday at 8

p.m. we all have a little round of applause very nice yes unfortunately I

am suffering at the moment from hay fever because of the pollen that is

produced by the flowers the small tiny particles of pollen go into my nose and

then my body will overreact it will produce something called histamine which

is trying to fight the pollen so what happens is you end up with a very wet

nose your nose starts running and you start sneezing because it irritates your

nose and then your eyes become sore as well so hay fever is something I get

every year and unfortunately it is something I will always get at the start

situation is getting better a little bit so things are slowly slowly improving

here in the UK things are not improving it would appear that we might still have

this situation for maybe two or even three more weeks so things are not good

every day is the fact that your throat slowly becomes very dry so you might

notice that sometimes when I'm talking it might sound as if my throat has

become very dry and the reason for that is it has that's exactly what's happened

maybe something is making you feel upset or angry you can say that really that

however if I have to lift something heavy if I have to pick up

I thought it would be fun to talk about things that we collect things we collect

a lot of people have collections things that they collect maybe they have a

certain thing that they enjoy looking at or having around them in their homes so

do you collect anything are you a collector of something one of the things

it always fascinates me is when 35 year old men collect Star Wars toys or things

connected with science fiction I always find that thing very fascinating and

there are many people on YouTube who talk about Star Wars or science fiction

there are some people such as nerdrotic does anyone know nerdrotic

nerdrotic is a well known youtuber and quite often he will talk about science

fiction Star Trek or maybe Star Wars or maybe some of the superhero movies nerdrotic

so I watch him a lot he is a very good youtuber and quite often he will

also he will also do live streams as well his live streams are very similar

to mine because they go on for a very long time

so yes I'm always fascinated by people who collect things but some collections

are very unusual so I suppose I could ask do you collect something is there a

certain thing that you like to collect so that's one of the questions I'm

asking today is there something you like to collect in your life hello do scare

collect boxes of cigarettes did you collect the cigarettes or did you

collect the boxes so maybe the boxes were empty so maybe

there were no cigarettes inside them so perhaps you perhaps you just collected

the cigarette boxes so that is one thing yes there are many types of collecting

that a person can do you can collect anything I suppose and some people

collect very unusual thing I remember a few months ago I saw a

report on the local news and there was this young guy and he collected vacuum

cleaners his house was full of all of these different types of vacuum cleaners

so over the years he tried to collect every different type make and also model

all of the different types of vacuum cleaners that exist so his house was

full of vacuum cleaners so I would imagine his house must be very clean

indeed can you can can I have a small garden next to you how much is it how

much does it cost well maybe you could come and live in the field near my house

and then we could wave to each other every day that sounds like a good idea

boxes from different countries a lot of people used to do that and also inside

quite often inside cigarette boxes there used to be little cards as well so

people used to collect cigarette cards so over the years I think it stopped now

I don't think they do it anymore it's very hard to buy cigarettes these

days especially in this country it's very hard to buy them hello Adrian my

collection these days is to have most of your lessons on YouTube well that is

easy that is a that is an easy collection to get hold of because all of

parts of the world including here in the UK so many shops have knob so there is a

shortage but some people of course some people who have these things in their

liquid and also gel alcohol gel so normally the hand sanitizer is normally

brief the English language is one language there is only one English

language it is a language that is quite often described as universal it is used

well so we talk about accents sometimes we think there are only two accents but

accents all around the world if you are learning English as a second language

quite often you will have an accent as well so we don't often look at the

accent as being a different language even though a lot of people do feel that

there is more than one English but there isn't there is only one English language

are some slight grammar rules that are different between British English and

American English but they are small differences however they are very small

and quite often they don't make much difference to the English language that

is being spoken because there is only one English so the English language is

one language however there are many accents and they exist all around the

around you so if you listen to English being spoken you are creating an

environment just as you would if you had a glass house for growing vegetables or

study something maybe a certain subject many people nowadays have computers and

smartphones so perhaps you could learn a new skill or maybe you can go back into

the kitchen and start baking your own food making your own bread so try to

make the best of a bad deal even though things are not going well at the moment

for many people you try to make the best the best of a bad situation look on the

bright side you always have to try and look on the bright side even when things

seem bad there are ways of helping yourself to stay positive think of all

the things that you can do and think of all the things that other people cannot

do and that's one of the things I like to do in the morning when I wake up in

the morning I have a smile on my face I always feel happy and the first thing

I realize is that I get to do this all over again I get another one of these

another day of existence and then I think of all the people who didn't wake

up and will never see another day again so I'm able to see another day

to have another day and I always try to make the most of it so I always try to

look on the bright side of life always
