then we are back once again live on YouTube I hope you are feeling good and

I hope you are feeling happy today here we are once again yes and as if you

needed me to tell you it's sunny we are having another sunny day here in England

so I thought I would come out into my back garden and do a little livestream

from the birthplace of the English language of course that is England so

you can see the Sun at the moment shining above my head and also you can

see the cherry tree which is also behind me and above my head so the big question

is where are you mr. Duncan we can't see you where are you we can see your tree

and we can see the Sun but where are you are you ready let's begin today's chat

why not it seems like a good idea let's do it let's go let's get things

started let's get the ball rolling let's kick things off let's get underway I've

just realized there are many ways of saying start many ways of expressing the

beginning of something especially when you are about to do something like this

hi everybody this is mr. Duncan in England

how are you today are you okay I hope so are you happy well are you happy I hope

so I hope you are feeling very happy today whatever is happening in the world

I hope there is a happy smile on your face

my name is mr. Duncan for those who don't know who I am

maybe you are watching this at the moment thinking who is that strange man

there is a strange man staring at me on my screen my name is Duncan I teach

English normally I am here teaching live English however we are currently living

through very strange times very weird times have you noticed how strange

everything is this morning mr. Steve and myself we went into town and we decided

to buy some milk however the town was very busy I was quite surprised for

those who don't know I live in a small town called Much Wenlock it's very nice

very quaint very lovely very typically English however this morning there were

lots of people in town doing the same thing as myself and also Steve so we

went into one of the shops and there were people everywhere lots of people

buying food some people were also buying Easter eggs because this weekend it is

Easter of course this weekend Easter will arrive so on Sunday we will be

enjoying Easter however most of us will be sharing our time with our family and

most of us will be in isolation it is still happening yesterday here in the UK

it was announced that the safe distancing and all of the isolation will

continue for maybe another one or two weeks so it looks as if they are

going to extend they are going to extend this lockdown for a little bit longer so

I'm trying to get my daily fitness I am out in the garden right now doing some

exercises walking around and of course talking to you as well I hope you are

having a good day yes it is Thursday however this is not my first livestream

today did you see me this morning eight and a

half hours ago I was in the garden filming the sunrise today's sunrise and

also the lovely dawn chorus it is actually on my youtube channel you can

watch it even though at the moment there are some problems with YouTube with

their system so apparently there are some problems at the moment with the

system on YouTube so there might be some problems with watching my videos or

seeing my videos so if you have a problem watching some of my videos it

isn't my fault unfortunately at the moment YouTube has some problems some

technical problems anyway I hope you are there now and I hope you can see me and

of course I hope you can hear me as well we went into town this morning

we bought some milk we got back home and of course I sanitized my hands before

and after so my hands are nice and clean I washed my hands when I returned and so

did Steve however mr. Steve decided that he wanted to wash the milk bottle

so the Milt the milk bottle as far as Steve was concerned was covered with

bugs so Steve actually washed the full bottle of milk under the hot tap so we

are we are not taking any risks at the moment just in case you are worried

that we are taking risks we are not we are both being very safe I am now in

isolation here in the countryside I will let you have a little look so this is

the view at the moment behind me so there it is and you might notice there

are no people around so I am quite isolated at the moment quite secluded we

talked about this yesterday we talked about words related to being alone or

secluded so there is the view behind me so you don't have to worry I am keeping

a very I am keeping a very safe distance away from other people very far away so

don't worry about that however you might see some people walking down the hill

behind me from time to time so it is allowed for you to go out and have some

exercise and of course there are people who live in this area who are taking

advantage of this thing they are taking advantage of the fact that the weather

is nice and also they can go out for a walk because they are local people they

are local just like me very nice to see you all here today the live chat very

busy.i I woke up very late this morning because after filming my door and chorus

this morning I had to get a bit 5:15 this morning and I have to be honest

with you it felt very strange it felt very weird getting up so early that's

what I did this morning 5:30 I was filming on my roof live and you can

watch my live stream from this morning again on my youtube channel however I

went back to bed afterwards so I went back to sleep

unfortunately I woke up a little late so that's the reason why we rushed into

town to get some milk because we realised

that we had no milk what it does that's that there is nothing worse than running

out of milk so because we've been very good we haven't been panic buying we

haven't done any of those things we have been buying what we need however we

didn't start buying too much stuff so a lot of people unfortunately have been

going out buying lots and lots of things they have been panic buying however I've

decided not to do that so we just bought one bottle of milk

we bought it back home and mr. Steve washed it just to make sure it was all

nice and clean I suppose it's a good idea to do that sometimes you can never

be too careful and I think this particular period of time is a good time

to use that expression sometimes you can't be too careful so that's what I'm

doing at the moment hello to everybody don't forget I am here every day I'm

doing a live stream every single day I was with you yesterday I was with you

this morning even though you didn't see me on the camera however you did hear

all of the lovely birds singing in the trees as they woke up to a new day you

period of time I've been doing some things I've been

trying to sort all of my old videos and all of my old lessons so I have hundreds

and hundreds and hundreds of things inside my computer and also inside my

archives so what I'm doing at the moment I'm looking through some of my old video

lessons I am also re-editing one of my big

lessons one of my epic lessons that I did about autumn so I'm actually

re-editing that at the moment and that will be posted on my youtube channel

sometime next week so I'm keeping myself very busy what are you doing I hope you

are managing to get some exercise because one of the things that we talked

about yesterday I was talking to Steve and he said perhaps a lot of people will

be putting on weight during this time because they are spending so much time

at home maybe they will start putting on weight so I think that's the reason why

you have to make sure you get plenty of exercise during this time you have to

make sure that you get plenty of exercise someone said there is a joke on

the Internet Oh Thank You Greville OOP I don't I

don't make panic purchases because I don't have any panic well in fact I

don't have any money I like that comment yes for some people

they have no choice unfortunately everyone is suffering somehow so

everyone who is actually having their lives affected this is such a strange

thing it really is it really is this is such a strange period of time so I am

trying to adjust to all of this I am trying to adjust myself so that is the

reason why I'm here today and I will be here with you every day during April

or of course until this all comes to an end

do you mean exercising that's very good so net Rho was actually getting some

exercise whilst I was doing my very early morning livestream Vitesse a

little bit of humor okay self I shall isolation goes fine

but we are only afraid of the decree on self liquidation oh yes I don't like the

sound of that at all so a lot of people are going through

difficult situations some more than others some more than others

and you may have noticed yesterday a lot of things happening in the UK and quite

quite possibly where you are so it looks as if we will have to stay in isolation

isn't it when you're up you when you are actually exercising when you exercise on

a treadmill it feels as if you're going somewhere but in fact you're going

nowhere you are actually staying in the same place so I hope you enjoy your

exercise on the treadmill don't worry I'm not really on a treadmill I'm just

pretending you see but this is good exercise so if you want to stay in your

garden you can just exercise like this you can actually just pretend to be

walking or maybe you can jog on the spot you can stay on the spot stay in the

same place and jog jog jog

hello to sassy at the hello sassy nice to see you here as well I am suffering a

little bit at the moment don't worry it's nothing serious it isn't it's not

that so don't worry however at this time of year I normally get allergies I

normally become very sensitive to flowers and pollen so that's one of the

things that always happens to me at this time of year so my nose in my

eyes start becoming sensitive which means that my throat becomes sore and I

also start sneezing so I have to be careful because if I start coughing and

sneezing because of my hay fever people might assume that I've got so I have to

be very careful so at this time of year all of the flowers are coming out all of

the pollen is floating around and I have got a little bit of hay fever today so

that might be why my voice sounds a little deep because hay fever season has

arrived unfortunately hello Guadalupe oh I am cooking a lot because my son and

daughter are eating all day long I think it has become a new quest time a new

pest time so when we have a quest time it means something that we do when we

have free time or when we have spare time so I think for many people eating

has become a new habit or maybe a new hobby I know a lot of people have

started cooking and baking in their kitchens mr. Steve is planning to make a

nice casserole next week I think so he hasn't told me yet but I think Steve

is going to actually make a casserole next week so I must say I am looking

forward to that the irony yes it is an ironic I think

it's very ironic that we are all staying in we are isolating ourselves to stay

healthy however many of us are now eating too much food which means over

time we will start to become unhealthy it makes no sense so I think for some

people who are isolated including me by the way because I love food it doesn't

matter if I'm in isolation or not I really do like food very much

YouTube really amazing I loved the early morning light and the color of the sky

I had to get up very early this morning so I could I could do my livestream of

not only the sunrise we were very lucky this morning because we had a very

beautiful sunrise but also all of the birds came out at the same time and they

were singing lots of people were singing

did I just say people I don't know why I said people I mean birds I know

sometimes I think that birds are like people they are very similar so the

birds were singing we also had the rooster there was also a rooster that

was waking up he was going did you hear the rooster this morning so there was

actually a rooster as well somewhere near my house and of course there were

also some lamb and sheep and they were saying good

morning as well good morning to the animals

honest with you sometimes I feel a little sad when I see animals in cages

or locked away so I don't like to keep animals locked away in cages or in boxes

so I prefer to see all of the animals in the wild so that's the reason why I love

this at the moment because at this time of year all of nature wakes up

everything becomes really nice around us so that's one of the reasons why I don't

have pets because I don't really need to have pets because around me there are

animals everywhere there are many animals everywhere mr.

Duncan why does Steve go to work well he is at

home he is at home however he is in his office in the house so that is what he's

doing he's still working although can I let you in on a secret I

happen to know that mr. Steve is in his office reading the latest car magazine

yes so if mr. Steve's boss is watching Steve is actually in his office but he's

reading a car magazine he's not really doing any work at the moment mr. Duncan

you are so nasty it's okay it doesn't matter

of course you know that Steve loves cars and there is nothing that Steve enjoys

more than opening a car magazine and looking at all those lovely cars all the

cars that he can't afford every animal in the world has the same language the

cat with the same the dog with the same and also even the rooster that wakes us

up in the morning with its voice but we humans have a very different language

and the thing is of course we have many different languages that we speak

however we all still communicate with each other even though sometimes it

might be very difficult to do it so I suppose that's one of the reasons why

English has become popular because it gives everyone a chance to actually talk

to each other and share their experiences that's one of the reasons

why I love English and it's something that's always attracted me for many many

years so I see English as something that can open doors it can

give you opportunities also it is a great way of sharing your thoughts your

experience and also your way of life the things that you like to do mr. Duncan

you are funny I think you should be a linguistic B linguistic love and Oh

I had to get up very early this morning to do that and I had to climb you might

not know this but I actually had to climb on the roof of my studio and it

was very dark it wasn't very light so I had to climb

up the ladder with all of my equipment then I had to get on top of the roof of

my studio however I managed not to fall I didn't fall off the roof I am still

here to tell my tale to tell my story it is fun to spend time on the roof yes if

you are very lucky if you are lucky enough to have a flat area maybe the top

of your house is flat and perhaps you can go out and walk around so some

houses especially in hot countries quite often it is possible to go out onto the

roof of your house I think so so yes it is a nice thing to do

especially when you are high up so one of the things I always feel lucky about

what is your all prospective towards life well one of

the things you may notice about me is that I always try to keep happy I often

feel happy about things quite often I will look for the small things the small

things around me I'm always fascinated by detail I'm always fascinated by the

smallest of things the obvious things yes of course things that are big and

obvious are interesting but sometimes there are many things around us that we

can't see or maybe we are so busy with our lives that we don't see them at all

and that is it so I like to think of life as an adventure it is something

that you do it is something that you experience I'm not saying that my life

is always easy because it isn't in my past I've had lots of problems and

difficulties but I would like to think now that I have become quite a happy

person I am content I try to see the beauty in

everything and everybody even though sometimes there are people around who

want to steal your happiness or take it away from you but at the end of the day

they are the unhappy ones they will never make me unhappy so I hope that

positive however there are many positive things happening around at the moment

especially during these strange times because at the moment people are in a

very difficult situation they are in a very difficult position so those who can

get about are helping those who cannot so I think yes when we talk about

difficulty when we talk about times of crisis you will often find that the best

of humanity and also the worst of humanity will come out so that is what

often happens during times of crisis you will find a lot of good things happening

decision you've had to make in your life I've had I've had to make a lot of

painful decisions and this is something you realize you should get older life is

not always going to be fair and kind sometimes there are things you have to

do sometimes you have to do something that makes your life more difficult

however if you can see into the future you if you look ahead and you make plans

for the future then quite often these difficulties don't seem so bad

so in the past I have had to make quite a few difficulties quite a few difficult

decisions in my life I suppose one of the hardest things recently was coming

back from China even though it was many years ago it was actually 13 years ago

that I came back from China however I found it very difficult afterwards very

difficult to adjust to being back here in England because life here was very

different much more hectic people were always busy and doing things so I did

find coming back here from China after living in China for many years I found

it very hard to come back and it caused me a lot of difficulty so I did sort of

regret I did regret coming back to England however now I

feel as if the decision was the right one so sometimes you can make a decision

or or make a change in your life which is painful at the time however gradually

you realize that you actually did make the right decision I hope that answers

your question I always try to answer your questions sometimes I get some very

unusual questions as well some very strange questions indeed for

those who've just joined me mr. Duncan is my name

well I always try to make things different I never like to do the same

thing all the time for two reasons and giving a lot away about myself today I'm

something for a long time the same thing so sometimes I like to change what I do

so I try to prevent myself from becoming bored but also I don't want you to

the garden and talk to you like this however sometimes I like to do my live

streams in the studio sometimes it is much more structured it is very

structured so when we say that something is

structured it means everything is in the right place everything has been

carefully put together it it has been structured however here in the garden I

suppose I can do anything I can do anything in the garden what is the red

flower behind you over there over there or do you mean here well the red leaves

here that is my cherry tree so there is a cherry tree behind me I will move my

camera upwards so you can see the cherry tree so that actually is a cherry tree

cherry tree and also you can see the Sun as well the sun is shining through the

cherry tree and behind me there is some of the beautiful landscape of England a

lot of people don't realize that England is a very beautiful place there are lots

of lovely places to visit and walk around in and this is one of those

places it is a very nice day and I always feel very lucky that I have the

chance to be here as well I always feel very lucky the pink flowers over there

in the distance if you look in the distance you might be able to see there

are some pink flowers over there that is Heather Heather so in this part of the

country if you walk around the countryside you will see Heather

everywhere it grows all over the place so that is why there is some Heather in

my back garden so that there the pink flower behind me is Heather hello rose

red how are you today are you feeling good I hope so

so here we are live hello mr. blackbird I think I just frightened a blackbird it

came very close to me I gave it a shock would you like to see another plant

because we were talking about plants just would you like to see a plant I'm

going to show you one that I have here so here is a plant it is next to me and

I will show it to you now here it is look at this plant

it looks very healthy this plant this particular plant looks very healthy and

it is because it's just started to grow after the winter months this particular

plant is called a carbuncle as' carbuncle as' and later in the year this

will grow to a very tall height it will grow very high in fact it will be taller

than me and I am six foot so that particular

plant as the year goes on it will get taller and taller and then beautiful

purple thistles will come out it is a beautiful beautiful flower beautiful and

we call it a carbuncle Asst how are the rhododendrons are good you have a very

good memory for my flowers my rhododendrons are coming along very

nicely last year I don't know what happened last year but my rhododendron

suddenly grew a lot I was very surprised by how much my rhododendron suddenly

grew so this year the rhododendron is quite large how

it is still early in the season so they haven't started growing yet so the

flowers have not started growing yet because it's still early in the season

but yes my rhododendron is looking rather nice

it is looking lovely at the moment thank you very much for asking hello Lena my

cousin's sister lives in Australia very nice in a little town not far away from

Sydney Australia one of my friends one of my students in fact lives in

Australia one of my best friends that I had in China now lives in Australia and

also one of my students lives in New Zealand so two of my friends and

however I do prefer to be in front of you I always think

that this form of communication with images and sound is more vivid it is

more interesting maybe so if I was standing in my garden now and you can

only hear my voice maybe it wouldn't be so interesting you might think Oh mr.

Duncan mr. Duncan he's putting the sound of the birds behind him it's not real

however standing here in my garden you can see that I'm in the garden you can

see that I'm standing underneath my cherry tree and you can see that I'm

here not only that but you can also hear nature all around me so that's the

reason why I always like to do this on YouTube I always think that it is better

to be able to see the person as well as hear them and that is just my opinion it

is something that I've always liked the thing about YouTube is you can see the

person and you can hear them as well visual things tend to be very exciting

if you can see something as well as hear it quite often those two things combined

and they bring something to what it is you are doing something very special

vera as well do you mean something that you put on your hands yes aloe vera is

very good for your skin one of the things I've noticed recently because

I've been putting hand sanitizer on my hands to keep all the horrible bugs away

I've noticed that my hands have become very dry so I feel as if I need some

sort of moisturizer something to make my hands soft again so at the moment I've

noticed that my hands have become very dry and I think it's because I've been

using a lot of hand sanitizer Taylor woods says you should do a nightly

routine and us under morning routine I wish you were all my teachers except for

my favorite which I only have three oh thank you very much so you have three

favourite teachers I'm just wondering now if I am one of them am i one of your

favourite teachers I hope so

visual things are easy to learn yes you are right they are much easier to learn

so your choice is better than podcasts I do understand that there are people who

want to listen to things maybe through their earphones or as they call them now

earbuds mr. Duncan you know you know what the

teenagers are wearing in their ears oh very nice so their earbuds quite often

on the train in the morning or maybe if they are relaxing and they don't want to

watch the video maybe they can just listen to something as well listen to

something listen to a podcast but I've always preferred to do video I never

like to hide away I know lots of people on YouTube have personas do you know

what I mean by that a persona is a character that you project you project a

certain character so there are many youtubers many people here on YouTube

who hide behind a persona so quite often you won't see their face on the screen

however I prefer to be open I want you to see what I do I want you to be able

to understand what it is I'm saying so I always think that having the visual as

well as the audio is the best way to do it the best way to do it Shawn asks how

many hats do you have in your house it sounds like a song that does doesn't it

tell me mr. Duncan how many hats do you have in your house I have this hat and

that hat I have a hat for a sunny day I have a hat for a rainy day I have a hat

to keep the Sun off my face but today I have

hat that will protect all of my face and also my neck because there is a lot of

Sun around so what I'm doing today I'm wearing my big hat and then this will

keep all of the Sun off my skin there is nothing worse than having too much Sun

on your skin because you can get all sorts of problems especially as you get

older so there can be a bit of a problem this hat Oh a lot of people want to know

about my hat my hat is actually I've had this for many years this hat is actually
