There’s so little time in a day, and you have so many things to do.

You want to work on your English, but there are always

“more important” things to do?

I totally feel your pain! i totally understand.

And since it’s the new year, it’s a perfect time to try a new strategy

and make this year your most successful year in English.

Ever.

First, you need to have a plan and some goals.

To help you, I’ve created 2 free planners that you can download.

Now

first, fix your Ultimate Goal.

The ultimate goal can be big

but it still needs to be a little specific.

For your ultimate goals, forget things like

“Be more fluent in English”

or

“Have more vocabulary.”

” Maybe that’s your big-giant-yeah I’m awesome goal,

but

not today.

Then, break your Ultimate Goal down into specific steps.

Then, break each step into short-term

measurable goals that you can achieve each week or each month.

This will allow you to see your progress and stay motivated.

So get specific.

Here’s how:

First, Define the ultimate goal.

Let’s say it’s something kind of big like

“Be able to have easier meetings in English”

No.2

Break your Ultimate Goal into Specific Steps.

For having easier meetings,

some Specific Steps could include

Learn how to introduce myself at the beginning of a meeting

Improve comprehension of my American colleague’s accent

And

Learn expressions to lead a meeting

Then, break each step into short-term goals and focus on these

for a week, for a month

for the time that you think its necessary to achieve the goal.

If you’re working on how to introduce yourself,

you can formulate your short-term goals like this:

“By the end of this week, I will create a structure for introducing myself.”

Simple, the next week, maybe your short-term goal will be

“Formulate and practice short sentences that fit in my introduction structure.”

All very simple

but all very achievable

in small amounts of time.

In your plan, you need to focus on

one thing at a time, and one thing only.

Sure, you want to be more fluent overall,

but you don’t become more fluent by trying to learn everything at once.

It’s like trying to catch a lot of tennis balls at once.

That’s not very efficient.

So choose one thing you want to learn first,

before you move on to your second goal.

And that's it. It's a simple way to help you finally find the time

even 10 minutes 15 minutes a day

but to help you achieve your goals.
